"I participated in the Perl Beginner course at the Hotel Hoeri, which established a really pleasant learning environment. It was accompanied by a small numbers of participants, extensive documentation (slides, books) a laptop for every participant. Bernd as trainer introduced us in a very professional manner into the basics of Perl, but never failed to give us also helpful hints which would be of help even to experienced programmers. Specially he dealt in detail with the concept of regular expressions, thus giving us a comfortable feeling to use it.
